Host Your Own Scrapbooking Swap

from:

Swapping is the most exciting part of scrapbooking. After you have mastered the skills of making swaps, you tend to create your own ways to make swaps. However, you may fall short on ideas because you might not know how and where to start. Here are some helpful tips on how you can host your own swap so that others may also learn from your ideas.

1. It is important to determine where you would like to share your swap before deciding on the swap you would want to host. Make sure to inform your participants that there will be a forum on the following day.

2. If you would like to participate on the new swap hosting lists on the Internet, you should understand and read all the requirements needed for hosting swaps. If you aren't fully convinced of their invitations, be sure to request a copy of the whole scope of the hosting swap.

3. You should know what type of swap you would like to host. If you have gained the experience in participating in different types of swaps, you may start with your new ideas of hosting your own swap.

4. Decide on the theme that may be attractive to other scrapbook makers. There will be times that your chosen theme will be the main subject for the swap.

5. When deciding on the theme, it would be wise for you to be aware of the other hosts' themes posted on message boards and where they are currently hosting a swap.

6. You should choose a title for your swap. Make sure to create catchy titles to ensure more participants will be interested in joining the swap.

7. You should know the number of participants that have purchased on the swap. You should also know the items the participants have returned and rejected. Make sure that all items have the names or e-mail addresses of the owners.

8. Post your announcements on the discussion list or through your website. Once you have completed all the details, that is the perfect time for you to spread out the forum to all swappers.

Expect for sign ups. You should be prepared for new participants since the announcement was made. For those who would like to join, you should get their names and e-mail addresses so that you can send them a message that they got a spot on the swap. Now that all the groups are filled in, you may now address your final details to your participants.
